APCONF ETHICAL STATEMENT

The Asia-Pacific Conference on Maritime and Underwater Archaeology (APCONF)
foregrounds intellectual honesty in which openness, compliance, international collaboration,
and the free flow of talent and ideas are essential. The conference, its workshops, and
other events seek to enable engaging discussions and conversations that sustain
APCONF’s mission to advance maritime and underwater archaeology for humanity.
Therefore, APCONF is committed to providing a safe, secure, productive, and welcoming
environment to all participants, including the organizing committee, attendees, and
vendors. APCONF has no tolerance for discrimination, violation, harassment, or bullying in
any form. All participants have the right to pursue shared interests without intimidation or
bias in surroundings that support diversity and inclusion. In acknowledgement of our host
country’s legal and moral system, participants are expected to adhere to conference and
host principles, recognizing and valuing local cultures, traditions, and knowledge systems.
Participants should report any behaviour inconsistent with the principles outlined here to
the APCONF Ethics and Accessibility Team.
