Bali 2026: Local Transportation

LOCAL TRANSPORTATION

  • Bali is best navigated by taxi, ride-hailing services such as Grab and Gojek, hotel transfer, or private transfer arrangements.
  • Traditional taxis are available in tourist areas and at airports, while online taxi services are often more convenient due to transparent pricing and easy booking.
  • Participants should expect traffic delays because traffic can be heavy, particularly in popular areas and in busy tourist areas as well as during peak travel times, so extra travel time is recommended when going to conference sessions.
  • For short and medium trips, ride-hailing services are widely used and often more convenient than street taxis because fares are usually shown in advance.
  • Traditional taxis are available in tourist areas, airports, and major hotels. When using a taxi, participants should choose a reputable operator and, where possible, use a metered service such as Blue Bird.
  • Online taxi services are generally the preferred option for many travellers because they are easy to book, transparent in pricing, and suitable for airport transfers, hotel trips, and conference travel.
  • For longer trips, private drivers or pre-arranged transfers may be more comfortable and practical than multiple taxi rides.
  • Public bus options exist, but they are limited and may not be the most practical choice for conference participants with tight schedules.
